I'm not 100% positive but I think the trim is just installed with double sided tape... pretty sure that is the case.
You would probably need a plastic tool to pry it away from the body. Maybe a plastic putty blade from the hardware store would work well, one of the wide ones. You could just tape off the trim, but if you need to remove it I would think carefully using a putty blade to pry it away from the body would probably get it off without damaging it. To reinstall you'll probably need some new double sided tape. I know 3M makes a good selection of double sided tape for automotive use.
