I've had no issues with Dayco belts. The only consistent causes for belt squeal for me have been:

1) Water splashed up, or condensation on the pulleys - intermittent, fades in a few seconds.
2) Glazed, worn-out belt.
3) Mis-alignment of pulleys, often due to pivot bolt bushings worn out. Even 1/8" out of the plane of the other pulleys can cause squeal.
