EV owners frustrated with home charging fees

Yup. I had a Pacifica PHEV for a week and just plugged it into 110V. Not a special outlet, just ordinary "meant for carrying a few ordinary lights" current. I generally got enough power to drive as much as I wanted.

Agreeing with valiant67 while clarifying that pretty much any PHEV or EV has these same measures available.

Probably saves a lot of wear on your car engine, too.
There are enough EV-haters that anyone with a gripe, real or imagined, gets all the media and social media attention they want.

It's the same for the opposite...
It really isn't. There are no headline news stories saying "Joe loves his new Volt and has had no problems with it!"

There are stories about cars catching fire but that's been true as long as I've been alive.

Unless you mean stories gushing over the latest features of the latest EV, but they do that for gasoline cars, too.
