FCA US is opening up its purchasing and engineering staff to new ideas from new and different suppliers, including smaller companies that ordinarily might not get much of a hearing.

Held at an annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) event at Cobo Hall in Detroit (April 10-11), FCA US’ exclusive “Pitch Pit” will give out-of-the-ordinary suppliers an opportunity tout their products and innovations.

Suppliers who have exhibits will have 30 minutes to explain how their innovations address consumer needs in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

FCA US has also continued Chrysler’s annual MatchMaker event, bringing more than 3,000 minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses to its Michigan headquarters. The trade show has generated more than $3 billion in new business opportunities since 2000.
