Here we go again. Let's see if the crack management team will fix this. The GW is not a vehicle you want misaligned parts on. There shouldn't be on any vehicle for that matter. Doesn't anybody look at these before being pushed out the door?
While it's not uncommon to have "teething" issues on new models, these should be kept at the plant and out of dealers hands until they are fixed. My fear is the crack management teams past history of it's good enough and ship it mentality.
so you want to P-off Customers that have been waiting since March for their orders on Models thats been already tough to build because of the Chip shortage?
In most businesses profit and shareholder value is placed above everything. Nothing wrong with profits, but cutting corners everywhere and squeezing every last ounce out of the company leads to things far worse in the long run. But American companies only plan on short term ideas, nothing long term, unlike the Japanese, but even they have been bit by that thinking to some extent. Probably because their American subsidiaries keep pushing it.
My first new vehicle was a 79 W-150 built at Warren. I had it a year and noticed a bubble in the paint on the right bedside. I was washing it at the carwash and blew the paint right off of it. Turns out the metal underneath wasn't prepped right and was rusty. I had two Ramchargers from there, an 80 and 84. They weren't bad.
Here are my exhibits of build quality on a $102k MSRP Grand Wagoneer. The garage door picture is showing the distortion caused by the windshield. On a positive note, my rear hatch/taillights are aligned!
So, if I may, why did you take delivery of it if these were that evident? I wouldn't if it was only 25k. If it's new it better be as close to perfect as possible. That dash alignment is terrible.
Yes I could have done a better job on the initial look over. None of it was apparent at 7pm in the dark when I took delivery and looked it over with the vehicle being black on black.
so wagoneer client services reached out to me preemptively on the windshield distortion issue and I now have a case number to work through them and the dealer, a positive sign but we’ll see if it amounts to anything. Dropped the GW off for service at the dealer to address the quality issues and the recall this morning, hopefully they will make everything right.
update
Ok, for what itsworth my dealership/Jeep are making everything right. They noticed my windshield issue was found on every other one they had on their lot and are buying replacements for all of them. They have a new steering wheel on order which they are forking over $1400 for according to them. The dash/pillar gap was due to a rushed Kahu/lojack install and they got everything fitted back properly. Also scheduling an upholstery fix for the tear in the back of the passenger seat. Radio static fix should hopefully be coming in an OTA update via Uconnect next week, and they are also addressing the trim misalignment on the roof. The parts/service manager walked through the vehicle with me and vowed they will do everything to make this vehicle right, and left me with a very good impression. Hope everyone else's issues get addressed with the same attention.
Was at my dealership today and they have a black Wagoneer sitting in the showroom. It looks fine. Hatch is lined up perfect. Now for the real sad news. Customer ordered a Grand back in November. It came in recently, but has the panoramic sunroof. It got shattered in transit. None are available. Customer thinks the dealer can just order one. The guy at the dealer says at least 6 months to get one. I'm glad I'm not that guy.
