Blame Mopar for the same defect, only undiscovered and no recall.
I bought a 92 Daytona brand new, and when the windshield cracked, I met the glass guy outside at work. I watched as he pried the trim away, and the entire windshield lifted off the frame! He did a double-take, said, "Holy $*#%! It was just laying on the car and clamped by the strips!" It didn't leak water or air, somehow, but it would have flown off in a minor crash.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Aluminum, which is more difficult to adhere to.

Well, given that airplanes travel 500 mph tens of thousands of times a day, and the windshields never pop out, I'd say that's not an issue.
