The biggest axle issue on JL/JT seems to be leaky seals, they do seem to be holding up.

Oh yes, the new "AdvanTek" axles. Ball bearings in the pinions instead of roller bearings. Smaller ring gears that are allegedly 8% stronger through metallurgy. Lower viscosity fluids. I haven't seen them blowing up, but they sure are hard on fluid. Seems the fluid gets filthy in very quick order on them. And those new pinion bearings have been noisy. We dodged a bullet that the "cost-cut" Dana axles have not blown up on them yet. (remember that discussion here?) Credit to Dana
Many of those launches were crap. Cheap interiors and subpar service. This is what most people remember of Chrysler. I wish they let Chrysler do a GM type of bailout since we were throwing out cash at all the car companies.I agree. But even with Daimler's abuse of Chrysler Corp, there were new vehicle launches, refreshes and a focus on product.
The 12+ years under FCA were horrible in this regard.
Not sure the hardtop issues are straightened out:Ford seems to have straightened out the hardtop issues as well as the engine issues.
Detailed Inspection means measuring and documenting realinservice component wear. Even dealers cat be expected to p reform thislevelNd techs don't know how.this kind of inspection takes daystoperform and isdestrucive ofthe conponents.iwoldcharge you 2000.00 a day plus milage cost to perform this plus tool costs. Looking at $10 000.00 complete job youwa nnafoot that bill??????Detailed inspection involves replacing worn suspension parts, which I have done. Luck? No way. Maybe on some of my other trucks over the years. I used to trade pretty regularly. But my truck I have now I've had for 21 years. I have kept a complete record of everything I've ever replaced. The only part on the front that's not been replaced is the steering gear box itself.
My guess is since JL sits higher than JK, engineers have pushed JL's geometry to the very limit.2. I don't understand how we went from nearly perfect steering on JK to rampant issues on JL. This shouldn't be rocket science.
I am seeing some juicy discounts on new Wranglers and Gladiators out there.Jeep is now at 120 days inventory when the industry average is 60.
Only Buick has more inventory.
While I don’t disagree, I have to say that my 2006 and 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8, 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8, and 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 were incredibly trouble-free.Many of those launches were crap. Cheap interiors and subpar service. This is what most people remember of Chrysler. I wish they let Chrysler do a GM type of bailout since we were throwing out cash at all the car companies.
Yes, the Daimler interiors were horrendous from a tactile and visual standpoint, but they were durable, squeak-free and could be taken apart and put back together without introducing rattles and misalignments. While I don’t disagree, I have to say that my 2006 and 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8, 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8, and 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 were incredibly trouble-free.
They sure don’t build them like that no moar...
Well well well... it appears that the 2024 order guide DID go live already. First time I can remember this happening so early in the year, but they are likely trying to fight off the attack from the Bronco.I haven't heard anything at all regarding JL/JT for 2024. Seems that Stellantis is going to let that vehicle become stale and have its lunch money stolen by the competition like they're doing with all their other formerly successful American models.
If they do put the I6 Hurricane engine in there it'll be a massive upgrade in power, but it may not be an upgrade in reliability or fuel economy. So we'll see...
I'll tell you a vehicle I think is going to be a smash hit for 2024...as bad as it pains me to say it...that new Chevy Colorado is going to sell like hotcakes. GM has that truck dialed in on point now. Amazing appearance front to rear, fantastic interior, up to 430 lb/ft of torque, 8 speed auto, lots of off road packages and trims to pick from, cool color choices, and WELL below Jeep in pricing. They have absolutely nailed it with that truck. Will be interesting to see what Ford's new Ranger looks like this summer.
🤣Unfortunately the powertrains remain the same. But I guess that means you can still get a 392 if you want one.
Yes, they are very durable. Mine is still going strong.Yes, the Daimler interiors were horrendous from a tactile and visual standpoint, but they were durable, squeak-free and could be taken apart and put back together without introducing rattles and misalignments.
Ford's quality problems are finally hitting the primetime news. Some people are in disbelief.Ford has indeed had some supplier problems with the hard tops, and may still be having some issues. Regardless, the last person I’ll listen to for information about it is some whiny YouTube influencer whinging away for likes and shares.
The Ford CEO admitted to the problems.....which is better than our recent past CEOs.....and despite the drop, Ford quality is still above FCA's.Ford's quality problems are finally hitting the primetime news. Some people are in disbelief.
I can't believe they had yet another recall TBH.Yeah it's something new every day for Ford. This week it was the F-150 pinions breaking in the differentials as they were loading them onto the delivery trucks. They apparently were skipping the process that hardens the steel. My goodness......
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding, but how else would we know of these issues if they weren’t already in the news? It’s not like some super sleuth detective is uncovering these issues, they’ve all been reported?Ford's quality problems are finally hitting the primetime news. Some people are in disbelief.
