Fratzog inspiration?

1965 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  LordHobbit
Looking at old catalogs online I found one from 1912. In it there was a stair corner. These were curved and nailed into corners to make it easier to sweep the corners of stair steps.
I am not saying it actually inspired the designer of the Fratzog. But it sure looks kind of close to it.

For those who don't know what a fratzog is and were afraid to ask.
The Fratzog was used on Dodges between 1962 and 1976, first used on the 1962 Polara 500, and found all over Dodges in this period, on grilles and hubcaps and steering wheel centers. The introduction of the fratzog logo on Dodge cars of the 1960s coincided with Chrysler's installation of Elwood Engel as chief stylist in November 1961. Prior to the 1962 Dodge models, Dodge employed the "forward look" logo from chief designer Virgil Exner's tenure (1955 to 1961) .
