Mother inherited a '48 Dodge Full-Size 4-Door Fluid Drive. Needs relatively minor body work and major engine repair. That's what brings me to Allpar. Excited to get it restored.

Welcome! The BoF cars aren't quite as commonly discussed, but there are plenty of knowledgeable people that can help. Both the General Technical Support and Help subforum and the Body on Frame subforum are good for stock questions, and of course if you're looking for a personality change there are plenty that would be able to help there too...

Is hers the model with suicide doors?

My first car was a 48 Plymouth Special Deluxe two-door with the flat head six. Mine had a standard 3-speed column shift instead of the fluid drive. I don't remember that much about the car because that was 40 years and two brain surgeries ago. I'll offer help if I can, but don't expect too much.
