I have a 2006 pt cruiser gt turbo. It the transmission keeps going into limp mode. After I clear the codes it works fine but if I hit the gas completely to get around someone it falls on it’s face and pops up a misfire code. Now with the being said i just did a full tune up new plugs wire and coil also new injectors. I have a feeling it’s tipm related because once the car has been driven for awhile and you come to a stop the car dies. Ac also doesn’t work which Iv been told is all signs of tipm failure. Is there anything else I can do before I just start replacing the expensive stuff. Alternator is good and charging good and had a new battery to. Please any help is appreciate

Will a tipm out of a non-turbo car work on a turbo car

Check the condition of the ground points. A corroded ground will reduce the voltage passing through and cause a low voltage condition. One area of interest would be the ground points on the driver side fender. You will need to remove the air box to get a good look.

Yep just did that and replaced the thermals because they were very bad and falling apart also put a tipm from a non turbo car in it is that ok since my car is turbo

Of all the diagnostic codes presented, P0882 appears to have some commonality with all the others. Low system voltage and TCM low power input can cause a myriad of logic problems with electronic control modules and cause symptoms of other codes.

Go to this discussion link of diagnostic code P0882. Scroll to my post #3 (Mar 2021) and review the diagrams. You have a poor electrical connection that is resulting in low voltage input to the transmission control logic.

2006 PT Cruiser Intermittent Limp Mode/CEL

I recently bought a 2006 PT Cruiser Non-Turbo. Runs great and after about 40 minutes the transmission goes into limp mode and check engine light comes on. I can cycle key switch and it runs fine. Next day same story.... I have code p0882. It looks like previous owner has replaced PCM and TIPM...
