Hennessey has come up with a unique package for the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, adding a set of turbochargers to the factory supercharged Hemi. The company claims over a thousand horsepower at the transmission from the aptly named HPE1000 Challenger.

The Hennessey HPE1000 Challenger’s twin turbochargers feed the supercharger for a hefty increase in power. The package is somewhat simple in construction, taking the otherwise-stock Hellcat Hemi and adding unique stainless steel turbo manifolds, twin-ball-bearing turbochargers, a new air to water intercooler system, a high capacity fuel system, and a good engine tune.

The stock Hellcat Challenger produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque at the transmission, with roughly 11 pounds of boost pressure. The Hennessey HPE1000 package uses the triple-charging setup to pack 15psi of boost, for a whopping 1,032hp and 987lb-ft of torque.

With a set of sticky drag radial tires, the team recorded 0-60 times of just 2.7 seconds and a quarter mile best of 9.9 at 142 miles per hour.

Some people will be quick to point out that adding a twin turbo setup and creating a compound forced induction setup in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with “only” 325 more horsepower is not the best way to go if you want to make big power. There are, indeed, other ways to make more than a thousand horsepower without adding the twin turbos, but the Hennessey HPE1000 package is more than just a big power beast. With production limited to just twelve cars, the HPE1000 is very collectable, and will also turn heads in the car show scene, as people go nuts for compound forced induction at shows.

Added trim for the Hennessey HPE1000 includes twin turbo badges, a numbered serial plaque signed by John Hennessey on the dash, a numbered serial plaque signed by the technician who builds the car under the hood, Hennessey floor mats, a signed certificate of authenticity, a lifetime membership in the Hennessey Vehicle Registry, and a 1 year, 12,000 miles warranty on their parts.

This exclusivity and power doesn’t come cheap, and according to a few people who have contacted Hennessey, the HPE1000 package carries a price tag of $45,000 on top of the car itself. A good tuning shop can get your Hellcat Challenger up to 1,000hp for far less than that, but those will just be 1,000 hp Challengers – not 1,000 hp Hennessey HPE1000 Challengers.
