There isn't a lot I don't like about it, aside from that it's very obviously an Alfa with Dodge parts. The biggest gripe I have is that they keep taking low shots of it and expecting it to look as good as a charger.

To me it looks incredibly awkward with so much ground clearance. So -- I eliminated it.

You are absolutely correct there!!! The did the same thing with several vehicles I've owned over the years like the Caliber R/T AWD, the Avenger R/T AWD, the Journey R/T AWD and even the Durango Citadel AWD although that one isn't as noticeable. I think the common denominator for the people planning these AWD vehicles for Stellantis is that they believe a AWD vehicle needs increased ground clearance for whatever reason. NONSENSE!!!! Now, a 4WD vehicle which is totally different in design is usually meant for off-road usage and actually does benefit from the added ground clearance. The last vehicle I was able to source good lowering springs for was the Avenger and that car looked good (until the "accordion incident", LOL!!

Visually, Stellantis et all have done a better job of lowering the ride heights and closing that wheel gap up lately but this is a prime example of a sporty vehicle with good styling being made to look like a Hot Wheels car because it has AWD capability. Stellantis, there are plenty of examples of AWD cars and SUVS with a nice low stance that cost way more and sell very well, Drop that car by about and inch and a half and I belive you've actually got something here people will at least look at before they buy something else..

If it comes lower from the factory how are they supposed to sell the DirectConnection lowering kits?
Agreed...sort of. Just like how were they supposed to sell the Stage 1 and 2 kits for the Avenger when it rolled out or the SRT version of the Dart that never made it. You have to sell a vehicle to somebody before you can upsell the accessories right?? FCA/Chrysler Corp/whoever has this nasty habit of showing you the cool things they can make to get you to buy the economy version of a vehicle only to yank the rug out from under you a few years later!!!

Has anyone here in the forums, driven one or even seen the Hornet up close?
Its so amazing that the Hornet is being trashed without even a test drive.
Whats up with that?
Nobody trashing the Hornet here at all, just voicing different opinions that we are all allowed to express in a free and open society...you are free to stop following this conversation if you find its unfair or too harsh, I've done it many times myself here on this Forum and others and yet, I'm still here!!
