The 2017 Ram Power Wagon has been refreshed, with a new grille, updated tailgate, and accents that reflect the 1979 and 1980 styling, popularized by Simon & Simon. The important parts remain — heavy duty off-road suspension parts, tough skid plates, 33-inch off-road tires.

Under the bright shell, buyers can also find Bilstein monotube shocks, a disconnecting sway bar, locking differentials, and a 12,000 pound winch to drag lesser vehicles from the mud. It has the Ram 2500’s five-link rear coil suspension and 6.4 Hemi (410 hp, 429 lb-ft), with a hefty 14.3 inches of ground clearance and 26 inches of wheel travel; the Power Wagon can drive through 30 inches of water.

Inside, buyers get new tire-tread-embossed seats with embroidered logos. Until now, though, there has been no word on what the new, improved 2017 Power Wagon would cost.

The wait is over. The 2017 Ram Power Wagon starts at $53,105, including a $1,320 destination charge [C$58,945 plus destination in Canada]. The Leather & Luxury package adds $4,495, with heated and ventilated high-back leather-trimmed 40/20/40 front bench seats (including a power 10-way memory driver’s seat and 6-way passenger seat). There is also a 60/40 split folding rear seat with flat load floor and under-seat storage.

The package also includes an 8.4 inch touch-screen with voice control, eight Alpine speakers, and a subwoofer. It's all topped off with a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic temperature control, front and rear parking alerts, rear backup camera, power folding mirrors, and an alarm.

Buyers who are willing to forgo the graphics can save thousands by getting the Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab Tradesman and adding the $8,450 Power Wagon package. That brings the total to $48,315, including destination, for anyone who wants “all go and less show.”
