The first day of the 2020 Chicago Auto Show was a busy one for Jeep, with the Trail Rated brand rolling out three new models - two of which showcase the new High Altitude trim level. Offered for both the Wrangler and the Gladiator, the High Altitude package creates a custom exterior look with loads of black trim while the interior is packaged with premium features.

“Our new Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator High Altitude are in direct response to customers who continue to ask for even more luxurious materials, premium content and technology in two of the most capable vehicles that we’ve ever offered,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA North America. “We’ve taken the most capable SUV and midsize pickup on the planet and delivered a pair of truly unique vehicles, inside and out, so there’s clearly no compromise between luxury and capability.”

High Altitude Exterior
On the outside, the High Altitude package for the 2020 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator begins with an array of body-colored bits with gloss black trim. The removable hard top, fender flares, mirrors, door handles, tailgate handle and bumpers are all painted to match the exterior color. Those exterior colors which are offered with this package include Billet Silver, Black, Bright White, Gobi (Gladiator only), Granite Crystal, and Ocean Blue (Wrangler only) and Snazzberry. Snazzberry is the new, dark red color shown here on the Gladiator.

Next, the High Altitude package adds 20-inch gloss black wheels wrapped in 275/55R20 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza all-season tires, marking the first time that either vehicle has come from the factory with 20-inch rollers. There are also black running boards, black badges and a spread of black trim pieces, along with a suite of LED lights. Every exterior light on the Wrangler and Gladiator High Altitude package is LED, from the headlights to the corner markers to the tail lights.

On the inside, the High Altitude package features a leather clad cabin, with premium leather surfaces on the steering wheel, dashboard, center console and door panels. The seats are also leather-covered, but to provide the luxurious feel, the seat are wrapped in quilted Nappa leather. Black is standard (and makes more sense), but buyers can also opt for a Steel Gray interior.

In addition to the premium leather, the High Altitude package for both Jeep models includes the 8.4-inch UConnect system, an Alpine sound system, 4G WiFi, automatic high beams, navigation, keyless entry, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection and the ParkView rear backup camera system.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler with the High Altitude package will goon sale during the second quarter of this year. Pricing will be announced closer to the dealership arrivals.
