Launch as of now... 6/26.
Nah...if I'm stuck with a 6 I'll go for the extra space any day of the week. I've owned two (a 2008 and a 2009) but really wanted a new GC with the diesel for our next SUV. I was willing to give up rear leg room, captain's chairs, and a usable 3rd row in order to get the diesel. Not willing to give all of that up for the gasser. Maybe I'll go drive a HEMI and see what I think, but no guarantees. Chrysler's inability to get a launch right (both quality, availability, and keeping to a timeline) is getting really frustrating. I settled on my 300S because they delayed the 8-speed/HEMI combo yet again. I won't do that anymore.69DartGTS said:^^^ if thats the case just get the V6 Grand Cherokee???

Doesn't work. The middle row is still very small for a 3 row crossover and the backseat is a joke. Plus I'm not a fan of the Dodge styling or interior materials. I really like the Overland and Summit models of the Jeep both inside and out, enough that when combined with the diesel I was willing to trade the space.bethlumboy said:V6 Durango?
You can't wait another month?HotCarNut said:Doesn't work. The middle row is still very small for a 3 row crossover and the backseat is a joke. Another month is a pipe dream for diesel availability, and that's my frustration. It's been pushed twice and Chrysler's determined to serve the overseas markets first because of the preference for diesels overseas. I want the Grand Cherokee, I really do. My wife has told me repeatedly that she'd prefer the Grand Cherokee even though it's smaller given the fuel economy and torque gains over the Acadia. However, even if they started production the end of June (huge if) they'll spend 2 weeks in QC before they ever get put on a truck to a dealer. Give it another week from there and you're looking at mid-July before the first one hits a dealer. Combine that with the fact that Indy gets all of the new models well after the coasts, Michigan, Chicago, and other major markets have been filled and we won't see one on the lot until October. It's frustrating as I originally wanted to get my wife one as a Mother's Day present. The May 14th delay date made that impossible, but it was reasonable to wait. Now it's pushed again and I hear every day that she wants her SUV back (she's currently driving our MINI). I can't keep putting her off because Chrysler can't get their act together. This launch has been a mess of delays and limited availability. The only thing keeping it from making bigger headlines is the absolute disaster Ford is suffering with the Lincoln MKZ launch.MoparNorm said:You can't wait another month?
Lease up?
I'm still wondering if they'll delay it again. That's my reference. This was over a 6-week delay and they waited until less than a week before the production date for it to become public knowledge in the system. Given their modus operandi right now, I don't believe the 6/26 date is legit. My post didn't accurately reflect that sentiment, but that's really what I'm getting at. Chrysler has lost their credibility on this launch and they're trending poorly on all of their launches. I guess in trying to pinch pennies and monitor Europe Sergio is too busy to take care of the market that's actually MAKING money.MoparNorm said:Sure it's frustrating, but June is only another month, from May, that was my reference.
It seems worth the wait.
Yes. Moved back once again, 3rd quarter launch.HotCarNut said:I'm still wondering if they'll delay it again.
That's BS. I really wish it would come out sooner!oh2o said:Yes. Moved back once again, 3rd quarter launch.
The amount of incompetence in their production/launch-planning department is unbelievable. I don't understand why people aren't being fired for this kind of stuff.oh2o said:Yes. Moved back once again, 3rd quarter launch.
Geeze, is this is another move from the delay acknowledged last week?oh2o said:Yes. Moved back once again, 3rd quarter launch.
 :soapbox:oh2o said:Yes. Moved back once again, 3rd quarter launch.
Would it be possible to work it out with a dealership to Lease a used Jeep Grand Cherokee until the the diesel version is available?HotCarNut said:Another month is a pipe dream for diesel availability, and that's my frustration.
