I have a 1996 Jeep Gran Cherokee with a 4.0 liter engine. The fuel line runs along the drivers side. It connects to the fuel rail with a connector on a braided line, turns to metal and runs under the manifold, drops along the firewall under the master cylinder and becomes braided again under the drivers floor at the frame and has a connector to the metal fuel line. The braided line connector itself is rusted and pushing out fuel like a geyser.

I looked on Napa, AutoZone and Advance and don't see that line available. Is it strictly dealer?

I didn't find the 1996 listing, but if it is the same as a 1997, I see a Mopar part # of 52127633.
See item # 1 in figure 14-310 here:
http://oskin.ru/pub/chrysler-dodge/manuals/Chrysler_Service_Parts_Catalog/CD3/97-01/97ZJ.pdf
ER0 is the 4.0L.
If this is the line you are looking for, there are other sources, like ebay or other online retailers. An example here:
https://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/p/__/TUBE-Fuel-Supply/6737125/52127633.html
It shows that this part fits a range of different engines and years. Verify before ordering.
