Moab Easter Jeep Safari Vehicle Sneak Peek 2013

March 18, 2013 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Jeep and Mopar have once again joined forces to create a selection of concept Jeep vehicles for the upcoming 47th annual Easter Jeep Safari, taking place in Moab, Utah, March 23-31. The Jeep Grand Cherokee “Trailhawk II” concept and the Jeep Wrangler “Slim” are two of the six new vehicles that will head to Moab. Look for more information and images on these vehicles later this month.

Cool
Have we discussed the Wrangler "Slim"?
The Slim Jeep I have pictures of, is Rock Lobster red, Black and red wheels and a black grill and the Trailhawk is an orange crush colored Grand Cherokee with 2013 Wrangler Rubicon wheels.....not sure if these are the same ones.
Can't wait for this. I look forward to it every year. I wonder if they will give us a sneak peek at the Cherokee? Odds are they won't, but it would be cool to see the Cherokee Trailhawk.
Looks like the Euro bumpers are coming, on the Wrangler refresh..that ought to booster the sale of AEV bumpers.

is it purely for style reasons or is it for new pedestrian safety standards?

Possibly both. They currently make two bumpers, they can likely save money and increase line speed by building only one bumper style, albeit the Euro bumper is very ugly.
The " closed" front may have aero and mpg advantages.
I will say it now, when Wrangler becomes as un-modifiable as the car Jeeps, it will die a slow death. Whatever "improvements" they make, had better be reversible by owners.
I fear that concept Wrangler is giving us hints.
Ugh, the gaps between the fender and bumper must be effecting MPG? This bumper looks similar to the Anniversary Rubicon bumper with extensions.

I like how the AEV bumper shrinks that gap some, but the Euro bumper is just weird. YJ Renegade weird.
