On September 13 th and 14 th , the 2019 Monster Muscle Car Weekend will be held at World Wide Technologies Raceway in Madison, Illinois and while it is open to all American muscle cars – Mopar is the most well-represented and supported group within the event. The Monster Muscle Car Weekend includes a car show, a swap meet, a manufacturer’s midway, a car corral and, of course, a huge drag racing program.

For Sale Sections

First up, we have the three large portions of the Modern Muscle Car Weekend that are all about acquiring or completing a project car. Those are the swap meet, manufacturer’s midway and car corral. In the swap meet, there are hundreds of vendors selling everything from new and used parts to collectors to clothing while the manufacturer’s midway is all about the latest and greatest products from the event sponsors.

As for the car corral, this area will be lined with all sorts of vehicles for sale, ranging from rust buckets that will require a full, frame-off restoration to turnkey show cars, ready to hit the judging field.

Car Show

Next, we have the Car Show, which is broken up into seven classes in which Mopars can enter, along with one class that is just for the Ford and GM entries. For those classic Mopar show car owners, your machine will fit into one of the following show classes: Stock, Clone, Modified, Pro Street, Race Car or the Mopar Fun Field.

Modern Mopar owners get a class of their own, with all cars and trucks from 2006 through the present being entered into the Modern Muscle class. It should be noted for those modern show car owners that unique judges will be brought in for the late model class, so you won’t have a judge who hates anything built after 1974 judging your custom Hellcat or Scat Pack.

Car show admission is $65 for classics and $50 for modern models.

Drag Racing

Finally, we come to what will likely be the most exciting aspect of the Monster Muscle Car Weekend for the majority of attendees, and that is the elaborate drag racing program. With the success of the modern Mopar lineup in the drag racing world, this event has added more classes in which modern models can compete, along with introducing some classes which are reserved just for the newer cars.

There are a wide variety of racing classes, but if you have a late model Mopar machines, you can compete in the following classes which are specific to newer race cars.

Pony Car Wars
Gen 3 Hemi Challenge
Modern Muscle
Hellcat Shootout
Demon& Redeye
Unlimited Modern Muscle

Of course, if your Mopar drag car is enough of a beast, there are other classes in which you can compete with cars from all eras. This includes Mopar Vs. The World, Pro, Super Pro, Quick Eliminator, Stick and many more. Click here for a look at all of the drag racing classes offered at the Monster Muscle Car Weekend in St. Louis.

In short, if you have a stock modern Mopar, there are several classes in which you could enter and have a real chance of winning. If you have a built modern Mopar that will hang with the quickest cars on the grounds, there is no limit as to which classes you can enter, but the key point here is that the folks with modern cars – especially lightly modified vehicles – don’t have to compete with the heavily-built classics unless they want to do so.

Unlike so many other Mopar events where the modern models are forgotten, the Monster Muscle Car Weekend in St Louis has set up the program to make it a ton of fun for everyone who brings a show car or race car.

Admission Costs
