Dodge, SRT, and Mopar are extending their drag-racing partnership with Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) for several years, extending a relationship that began in 2003.
DSR’s Mopar-powered teams have claimed 12 championships in the Funny Car, Top Fuel, and Factory Stock Showdown classes, starting with Tony Schumacher’s 2004 Top Fuel title; the latest championship was Leah Pritchett’s 2018 Factory Stock Showdown crown.
According to Steve Beahm, head of Mopar and passenger-car brands in North America, Mopar and Dodge worked with DSR to develope and debut the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car body and bring the Challenger Drag Pak to the 2018 Factory Stock Showdown championship.
Matt Hagan, Leah Pritchett, Ron Capps, Tommy Johnson, Jr., Jack Beckman, and Tony Schumacher are all returning to race under the DSR and Mopar/Dodge/SRT banners. The drivers have set over 200 of DSR’s 333 overall victories, setting numerous track and national records.
