Mopar is investing $10.4 million into a new Mopar Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Romulus, Michigan, near the airport. A 500,000 square feet building will yield jobs for over a hundred people; preliminary construction has already begun.

When the building opens in mid-to-late 2017, Mopar will have 23 PDCs in North America. A new facility in Winchester, Virginia, will open in the first quarter of 2017.

The Romulus center will handle roughly 45 million parts per year, taking in 30 inbound trailers per day and dispatching 40 outbound trailers, using two shifts. It will use “World Class Logistics” to reduce supply-chain waste through continuous improvement, and will be LEED (energy-efficiency and environmental friendliness) certified.
