Mopars at the office

So within that last few weeks, there have been some new cars around here, most of them Mopars! There is a 2014 GC SRT(man that is sweet) a 2013 200 Touring S, 2013 300 limited, 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona, 2013 Dodge Avenger and my 2013 200 Limited S.

I love looking at the parking lot now!

Wow, that's a great looking driveway!
I work in the South Bay side of Los Angeles, which is a predominantly import-area. We are surrounded by the Toyota and Honda campuses --and Nissan HQ used to be down the street. There are many Japanese companies based here, which brings a lot of Japanese ex-pats, so the vehicle choices in this area tends to reflect that.

But in the four years I have been working here, one colleague traded in his 2005 Acura TL for a 2013 JKUR; another colleague that transferred from our Germany HQ to our Detroit office got a used 2009 JKUR, which he eventually traded for a new 2013 JKUR, and yet another colleague, also in our Detroit office, just traded his 2011 Camaro for a new 2013 JKUR.

Who says Jeep needs Cherokee to conquest customers from other brands! LOL
Seen a few Mopars at work. About the same time I bought my 200, a coworker bought a brand new Journey. Also I see a Durango in the lot. Another coworker has a Charger SXT. Aside from that, I see several Avengers, a few older Strati, a few minivans, and several Rams.
Our building has two other businesses besides ours. I usually park in the back and only see one other MoPar in the back lot. A PT Cruiser driven by a coworker in accounting. On occasion I see another Ram parked out front. I think it's an '06 like mine. There may be some other older MoPar's out front as well - maybe a 300M and a Stratus.

The landlord of the building drives a Range Rover. One of the businesses is Metro (DC bus service) and they have 6-7 Explorers parked in a fenced off and locked gated area - supposedly they are specially equipped.
I looked at the parking lot, didn't see anything unusual, so I went back to work... ;)

Whoa! Just noticed this ...

Kon nichi wa !!

Dude, I grew up in Gardena, just north of Torrance. That was my haunt in early years. I concur with the Japanese ex-Pats.

Gardena was, roughly 1969-ish, more densely populated with Japanese-heritage home owners and business owners than was Tokyo at that time. But I digress.

My brother works as a sub-contractor for a contractor hired by Honda, and whose satellite office is situated directly in Honda's main office. ( I know, it's a long explanation ).

Small world, though :)
