1993 New yorker and the front door speakers are shot. Does anyone know or have they replaced the 5-1/2 diameter speakers in the door. I really don't want junkyard speakers as they would be as old as the car and anymore it seems like any small part you get from the yard they want a $20.00 bill.
Figure I could buy a new set for just a little more than a junk yard wants.
Anybody replace your front door speakers and what did you use?

These are non-Infinity?
5 1/2" shouldn't be too difficult to find. I've used Walmart cheapies, Parts Express and MCM.

Car door speakers should be considered an outdoor environment and be fairly weatherproof.
Magnets add weight for shipping charges, so you might want to see what is available locally first.

www.crutchfield.com is a good resource.

The best that I've found are the Cerwin Vega Stealth series. They were discontinued, but there should be a replacement series. Full, rich sound in all ranges. I have Polk in my truck, they're a little slanted toward the bass range. You can get superior speakers for as little as $60 a pair. Infinity (not the Chrysler Infinity) speakers are also good.

Hey, Thanks for the quick response Imperial Crown & Bob Lincoln. I had a door rattle and turned out to be the plastic panelcover on the speaker was loose. Then while checking the speaker the outside cone is all wroughted away. So It may be to Wally World for a cheap replacement set. This wasn't the chrysler infinity system and someone had put in an aftermarket stereo. I do have a chrysler infinity system in my 97 Sebring Conv. and its out of this world on sound quality. Super nice system!
Thanks again for the help.
