As far as I can tell, identical. They said 30% bigger but their specs disagree.
Either my KL figures are wrong or their KM figures are wrong.

See the story ;) it's all in the charts. Except I don't have a lot of SJ specs in there.
compass has more Cargo Space than KL

KL
25.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and up to 54.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.

Compass
The 2023 Jeep Compass has 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 59.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

KM
33.6 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 68.3 cubic feet with the second-row seats folded flat.

They also mentioned it has more interior space than KL.

One of the big turnoffs of the KL was cargo space. They seemed to have addressed that.
They fix what we complained about being a “Utility vehicle”. Gives us more Hip/head room and we still complain one measurement…. Leg room. 🤦🏾‍♂️

RAV4 41.0 inches of front legroom and 37.8 inches of rear legroom

Cherokee: 41.3 inches of legroom in the front row, and 38.5 inches of legroom

this puts it right inline with the RAV4 37.5 cubic feet behind the second row. When the rear seats are folded down, the cargo space expands to 69.8 cubic feet. Passenger volume is 98.9 cubic feet while 2026 Cherokee is 107.3 cubic feet.

I don't know standards... But based on comments and wha I saw on videos it has plenty of knee room for rear seat passengers.

What I don't like is powertrain choice. I'll comment more on it later.

And front overhang. Why? I mean it has enormous amount of space for a tiny engine. A lot of unused space. I'm sure that it could be 4-6 inches shorter.
Styling decision?
Money related? It's harder to achieve same safety rating with shorter snout.
I really don't know.
it still has better approach than previous Cherokee.. can’t comment on powertrain since the full line up haven’t been debuted. As of right now? It matches the Rav 4. Base GAS RAV4 has a 2.5L inline 4 203hp and 184 lb.-ft.

Cherokees 1.6 has 177hp and 220lbft.

What’s funny is most of the off-road numbers we have are better than the standard KL. Will be interesting to see breakover on the Trailhawk given the extra wheelbase.

Even more interesting is a terrible small shitty engine coupled to a CVT. Then they tack a top-of-class price on it. I guess the Europeans are determined to [I have a dirty mouth] up this launch too. At 4200+ lbs, this isn’t a lightweight and I sincerely doubt the electric motors can totally make up for the lack of grunt from the gas driveline.
Do people bother to do research on here ??
Honda CRV Hybrid with AWD starts at $37,130 and guess what? It also has a ECVT…..This “small shitty engine” has more torque than Toyotas 2.5L. And…..Why are we commenting on something we never driven?.

Seen in durnig the NFL game tonight so looked it up

210hp, some where on this thread I seen people post 160 and 175hp

The 2026 Jeep® Cherokee offers powerful fuel economy thanks to its innovative new powertrain. The 1.6L I4 Turbo Hybrid engine empowers two drive electric motors using regenerative braking. This supplements the engine as needed, offering greater mileage, efficiency and readily-available power.
177hp and 220lbft is non hybrid.

WOW Just WOW
that is a source, not sources, and I posted that yesterday,
you and most on here are speculating on a non-turbo version that does not exist and may never exist...read through this whole thread and it is all about the 160-170hp non turbo...
We are saying the 1.6 without electrical assistance is 177hp and 220ftlbs. Which isn’t offered (yet). Original sources state that. Which one, hard to find.

but this Cherokee had 210hp and 230ftlbs of torque and is hybrid.
