THe 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the first in a series of new or upgraded vehicles coming from Chrysler, goes into production this week at the Jefferson Avenue Plant in Detroit. Deliveries to dealers will begin in June and Chrysler will kick off a promotional program at the same time.
"We've eliminated remaining issues about quality," according to Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, "We feel comfortable that we've resolved all technical issues." Marchionne went on to say the new Grand Cherokee "is the basis on which we'll try to rebuild the Jeep brand on a global scale. It is the symbol of Jeep."
