I think Davies is a Barton motor boy now.
So is Pawuk according to the article I posted above. Berge is the "tuner" in Barton's shop designated specifically for the Mopar Hemis. If they all start running as well as Davies appears to be here, you'll probably see the rest of the Mopar racers switch to Barton motors.

Looks like NHRA increased the size of the qualifying field. They started 24 cars vs only 16 they took for most of last year, IIRC.

I checked the elim results for the first 2 rounds on the NHRA site - 3 Mopars in the final 6. Janac (Ford) had the fastest time in the 2nd round, a 7.672, but he fouled against Welch's 7.687. He also had Welch covered by 2+mph across the stripe. So much for the Fords not being competitive!

Finally!!!!!

Welch has had the field covered at several events when things just didn't pan out for him. That 7.623 @ 184+ in the 3rd round is pretty impressive. I'm wonderin' if he's getting help from the Barton operation also or who else his team is working with? I'll post the writeup from ND whenever I get my copy - probably in about a month.

Welch's times would be quite competitive here too, depending on conditions, of course. I don't see him on the list. How many total are they allowing to qualify? IIRC, the rules for running in NMCA are not identical to NHRA and maybe they cut the Fords a little more slack (?). I see Allegrucci qualified a full tenth quicker than he did @ Gainsville while Pawuk qualified about the same.

Skillman had the best Ford by far last year and I haven't seen him at any events yet this year either. Maybe he's preparing a car for the new FX category (?).

I'm not a member of Facebook (though I do check out their USAC page) so you'll have to keep posting the NMCA results for me.

Considering that Barton is driving one of the top Chebbbies in FSS, I doubt he is talking smack. I'm wonderin' if he's kind of warning all his COPO customers that they may soon be driving losers.
