Teterboro Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram hosted our sixth annual New Jersey meet-and-show on October 6. The show as supposed to start at 10 am, but the Teterboro staff was there by 8 am, and the Allpar contingent appeared at 8:40 - and the first participants arrived at 9 am.

30 cars showed up this year, a slight decline from 2011, partly because we had fewer people from the NYC Mopar Club. However, due partly to participation from members of the Restored Rusty Relics club, we had an unusual number of remarkable cars, including a former Secret Service motorcade 1974 New Yorker Brougham, a concours-restoration 1969 Charger, a fine 1956 Dodge Custom Royal, a Plymouth Superbird, well-modified SRT8s.... and many more.

This year, we had fewer (but higher quality) trophies to give out - but we wished we had more, including one for convertibles, as the cars were truly unusual and well presented. The Plymouth Superbird, in B5 Blue, was a true eye-catcher and a fine, rare car; Sal Ancito's 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst, in gold and cream, was, in one member's words, "the car that got me started on Mopars."

The choices for the voters were very hard indeed - with so much excellence, choosing one car was a problem.

Teterboro Chrysler-Jeep did an amazing job of moving cars around and providing space. They were generous in clearing off blacktop - an astonishing feat which required a lot of work from a lot of people. In the end, they cleared a massive amount of space. They also featured the show on their web page and passed out (and posted) fliers.

Dave pointed out in the wrap-up speech that he takes his cars to Teterboro to be serviced, though they are long past being under warranty. He has now purchased three new and used cars from Teterboro Chrysler-Jeep (or, as it's referred to in the Dodge Dart's navigation system, "Tetterboro Chrysler-Plymouth-Jep.")

From Route 18 North, take the local lanes to Route 27 North and cross the bridge, heading straight up the hill. Be careful of all traffic laws. Make a right turn on Second Avenue, which goes right into the park. Once in the park, make a right at the stop, follow the road to your left (toward the river).

From the Garden State Parkway, take exit 131 toward Iselin/Rahway/Metuchen, bearing right on the curve and merging onto Route 27. Route 27 turns off to the left on Lake Avenue (after the Friendly's) and then bends to the right. Once in Highland Park (27 goes back to a single lane), make a left turn onto Second Avenue and go straight into the park; make a right at the stop, and follow the road to your left (toward the river).
