I remember reading the test drives. The one thing they never could get quite right was the shifter feel. They tried very hard, but the motoring press was always dinging them about it. This car was maximum bang for your buck.

Yes it was !!! I had one for a couple years Awesome little Econobox !!! Wasn't the best fit and finish but with simple mods it would beat up on all kinds of cars... One of the few cars I regret selling but It got me a 69 GTS Dart 4-speed car fixed that one and another one I regretted selling, UGGH !!!!I remember reading the test drives.
