Good day everyone, I just subscribed to ask more knowledgeable people about this "Omni GTL" I ran acroos on the internet.

The year is 1983. It appears to be some kind of Shelby tie-in promotional car, to advertise Direct Connection parts. Anybody knows this vehicle or what was of it?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to Allpar. The Direct Connection and later Mopar Performance programs are the factory (Mopar) high performance parts pipeline. Carroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca made the 1980's Omni into a respectably fast car that was still economical and inexpensive.
I used the parts through the years to add performance and keep things 'somewhat' OEM on my Horizon, Shadow and Neon:

For the record, most, if not all the engine development on the Omni/Charger performance programs was done at Highland Park Engineering Center. I was one of 2 dyno operators involved in the program and Beth Borland was lead engineer.

The GLH name met some resistance before it was introduced in 1984.

This was essentially the DC parts combo showcasing what was to come.

And some that didn't appear on the the GLH

Similar to the DC Rampage.

Thanks
Randy
