Pacifica driver seat uncomfortable during test drive...is this normal?

I test drove a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid two weeks ago. My immediate surprise was that I wasn't comfortable in the drivers chair. Made no sense to me. It's a minivan...shouldn't this feel amazing and plush? Anyone else have issues with the drivers chair feeling too firm and unpleasant...even cheap feeling?

I almost walked out of there with the Pacifica if it weren't for the seat being so uncomfortable. I think it was the Limited trim. Do you have to go to a higher trim to get comfy seat?

The insane space of it all, the practicality of what you can load in the back, the low floor height to load things, the automatic doors everywhere...it just such a practical vehicle. Too bad the seat sucked for the 10 min I was in it. Went with a Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV instead as I still want a PHEV.

Would saying that yes, it is normal for the driver's seat to be uncomfortable make you want to buy the car?
if you are broad in the hips, the raised up sides tend to cut off blood circulation after about 30 minutes. Altogther the vehicle is great , wish I could find a cushion to help have not found one as yet

I have a 21 Pacifica Touring. The seat is highly adjustable. Been on l o n g road trips too, very comfortable seats.

It is difficult to have a 'one-size-fits-all' seat. The plush couch-like seats of the old luxury cars were soft & comfortable, maybe not for long drives as they didn't have much support.
The goal of a seat either in a crash or in spirited cornering is to keep you planted in the seat. The center console in some cars seems intrusive to some drivers as they can't tip their knee to the side. This makes sense as they want both knees behind the knee blocker/airbag in an accident. They want you behind the steering wheel in an accident.
Seats may be firmer & supportive than they were, but they shouldn't hurt. The adjustable Lumbar support is welcome on long trips.
The wife likes chair-height seats because of her back.
Some bucket seats are just like sitting in a bucket. 😉
My wife's '22 300 Touring L just turned 1,000 miles and I recently rode as a passenger for the first time. She likes the seats, but i couldn't live with them without better cushioning. However, it's her car so I don't care how hard they are. I'll probably bitch a little when she drives but thank goodness some features are still the buyer's choice.
Looks like tacolibre was a one and done poster to me. Yet, his thread lives on! LOL

I have my fleet Voyager(2020) for work and the seat is pretty good, not the best I have ever been in, but overall very good.

I feel like my T&C's (2012 & 2016) had better seats but not by a huge margin.

I love my Ram seats.

Worst seats for me? Toyota's every singe one I ride in just kills my rump and lower back, not sure wy.

Seat comfort is very subjective, so take my opinions with a grain of salt.

I have the same problem in toyotas. I just don't fit their seat design. Yet other people have no problems and like the Toyota seats.

Glad I am not the only one, sometimes I feel crazy when I tell people that Toyota's seats are killer for me.

We had a Toyota Minivan for a rental while going to the Chrysler Nationals and we ended up driving for 5 hrs to CT and I had to stop several times because my back hurt so bad. So awful.

In '20 I rented a Camry to drive to FL (from VA) for my nephew's funeral. We had to stop about every 1.5-2 hours due to the uncomfortable seats. Longest we went was 2.5 hours. It wasn't just me. My two daughters and my grand daughter complained as well. My '06 Ram has more comfortable seats. I can drive my Ram for hours and be very comfortable - one time I drove from Roanoke, VA to home (a 4 hour ride) and never needed to stop from a sore butt or back. The best seats I ever had were in a '00 T&C Ltd.

We do have a '16 Rav4 and I can ride in that with no problems. For some reason that Camry had the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in.
