Vehicle is 2019 Jeep Renegade with 2.4 liter multiair engine. Transmission is 948TE. I have 2 different part numbers for transmission fluid. 68157995AA and 68218925AB. Are these fluids equivalent and which is preferable for fluid change?

. . . .What if - hear me out, ladies and gents - a new vehicle with said Pepto Bismol sat on the dealer lot for months, and the anti-wear additives fell out. Could that explain premature failure in some of those vehicles? . . . .
In this situation the particular additives could / would separate and fall to the bottom of the transmission pan. But at engine start up, the fluid pump agitation would pickup the additives and reblend them into the fluid mixture. The addoitives would NOT stay separated so proper additive ratio to fluid maintained.

In the absurd situation I created, the additives tend to sink to the bottom in a quart container of 32 ounces. You add a small amount, say 2 ounces from the top of the container. Those 2 ounces would probably NOT have the proper ratio mix unless you "agitated the container" first. Again a possible extreme scenario.

. . . .Mopar uses the ZF Lifeguard 8 & 9 fluid for both the 8-speed & 9-speed. Shake well before using? . . . .

Like giving Pepto Bismol to your transmission??? Engineers probably have some concern that microscopic antiwear additives tend to precipitate out after a long period of unuse.

I can see it now. Transmission warranty claims denied becaue the owner did NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE before adding transmission fluid.

Thaks guys for the due diligence on the information!
