Are skilled trades able to clear up long term maintenance issues with the lines down?

Seems like a perfect opportunity.

Through the grapevine, it seems GM thinks the shutdown will last into early July.

If the chip shortage is resolved, expect the cancellation of traditional summer shutdowns unless a plant is scheduled for retooling.

Thanks for the answer.

Have a Navy buddy at Chicago Assembly and they are doing upgrades during the down time.

I have a feeling like Erik L. said that these plants are gonna be full out for months if not for a year plus.

Get it fixed now.

Can Warren speed up their rolling overhaul?

kokomo castings has limited skilled trades layoffs, no apparent plans to make up many maintenance and safety deficiencies.

I'm just a lowly engineer at Stellantis, so my news is as good as anyone's. But the internal discussion is saying chip shortage will last until end of this year.
I am hearing similar.
