In Finland our cars need to have an annual inspection. My 2006 PT Cruiser fails just about every time because the lower control arm bushing has been torn or the lower ball joint has too much play. Is there any permanent solution to this issue? I've been using Moog and Delphi brand lower control arms, but both suffer from this, even though I drive only a couple of thousand kilometers a year.
Somebody suggested using polyurethane bushings. Is there a lower control arm available with such a bushing already pressed in? Will it be able to endure the up and down twisting motion better than rubber?
