The return of the Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn isn’t surprising, but unveiling the 2019 version today was unexpected.

The Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas (based on votes from the Texas Auto Writers Association) three years in a row, the Laramie Longhorn 2500 benefits greatly from its unique, Jeep-inspired rear suspension. The Ram 2500 is the only pickup in its class to use a multilink system rather than leaf springs. (The Ram 3500, in contrast, does use leaf springs.)

The 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 Laramie Longhorn boasts full-grain leather seats, wood surfaces, and metal elements in its trim; using hand-wrapped, solely-full-grain leather on the dash, door panel coverings, and armrests is unique to pickups.  On the outside, they have a chrome-slat grille and header, with standard adaptive LED lamps. Other standard items are chrome bumpers, tow hooks, and side steps (optionally, with power); and wheel flares. There are two-tone color options, including RV Match Walnut Brown bumpers, flares and lower panels; and new 20-inch wheels in various finishes.

New for 2019 are alligator skin-embossed surfaces covering the center console, instrument panel, seats, and door-panel inserts. Other unique details include satin warm-chrome accents with a brushed-nickel metal badge flush with the console lid and new burned-in branding mark on the upper glove box. The Longhorn has barn-wood accents and wood tandem doors on the center console, with ambient lighting at night.

Laramie Longhorn 2500/3500 interior colors include Mountain Brown/Light Mountain Brown and Black/Cattle Tan with contrast piping. Rear seats are fully leather-covered—and heated.
