The folks at the Ram brand have just offered up the first bit of information on the 2022 model year in the form of the new G/T package for the half-ton trucks. Available on the Laramie and Rebel models, the G/T package adds unique styling cues inside and out, along with some popular aftermarket upgrades right from the factory.

“Ram has a strong history of performance trucks and the Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T models add to that while expanding the light-duty lineup with the segment’s best combination of performance, capability, luxury and technology,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis. “Ram 1500 G/T buyers will enjoy this combination of performance and luxury that the newest additions to our versatile lineup offer.”

The 2022 Ram 1500 G/T package begins on the outside with a sport performance hood, unique bedside decals and a cold-end exhaust setup from Mopar. Also, the Ram AirFlow cold air intake kit is included with this package, allowing the standard eTorque Hemi to breathe a little easier.

On the inside, the Ram 1500 G/T package starts by adding the Performance Pages app, allowing the driver to chart the real time performance of the truck, including things like 0-60 acceleration times, g-forces and engine parameters. Next comes what might be the most popular feature of the G/T package, which is shift paddles and a console-mounted shift lever. As you likely know, the Ram 1500 went to the shift knob on the dashboard and many people hate it. The new TRX comes with the shift paddles and the lever on the console, which people have been quick to praise, so the G/T models will get those as well. Finally, the interior is finished off with G/T-specific front bucket seats with embroidered logos and a bright pedal kit.

The Ram G/T package will be offered on Laramie and Rebel models with the Crew Cab and the eTorque Hemi with rear-wheel-drive being standard, but four-wheel-drive is optional. The Ram 1500 Laramie G/T starts at $55,480 plus $1,695 destination while the Rebel G/T starts at $55,375 plus destination. Both versions of the new Ram 1500 G/T will go on sale during the third quarter of this year.
