Back in the 1970s, Dodge introduced the Ram Macho Power Wagon with flashy graphics, big tires, a lifted suspension setup, a rear roll bar and a bright exterior color. At the 2016 SEMA Show, the Ram 2500 Macho Power Wagon concept brings that old-school design to the baddest of the modern Ram pickups.

Like all new Power Wagons, this monster concept truck has the 6.4L Hemi V8 (albeit with a Mopar cold air intake on this one), but every other aspect of the truck has changed starting with the four inch lift kit - making an even cooler modern Power Wagon.

On the outside, the Ram 2500 Macho Power Wagon has the striking Macho Mango paint, a unique front bumper with a winch and tow hooks, a push bar, a "concept" vented hood, a new rear bumper with tow hooks, beadlock wheels in 37-inch x 12 1/2-inch off-road tires, molded running boards, some sharp looking wheel flares and 5 inch exhaust tips.

On the inside, Mopar has added a Katzkin in bright Macho Mango orange with black contrasting portion and stitching. It keeps its 6-foot-four-inch bed, but adds a Mopar concept RamRack whichi slides and stows under the cab sail panel when not in use.

The most interesting aspect of the Macho Power Wagon Concept is the rear cargo system, which uses the painted front portion against the cab, a tie-down rack on the roof and a rear piece that slides all of the way to the back of the bed to carry loads of all sizes. When the rear-most portion isn't needed, it tucks under the painted portion behind the cab, creating a very clean look.

Further customizations are a new front bumper with a winch, winch guard and tow hooks, one-piece concept off-road running boards, larger concept fender flares, low-gloss black door handles, and a 21-inch heavy-duty light bar with LED clearance lights on the roof. Inside, it has wireless charging, a pedal kit, all-weather mats, and logo sill guards.

I absolutely love the look of this Ram 2500, and the best part of this Macho Power Wagon concept is that it would be very easy to build by someone who buys a new Power Wagon. Should Mopar add the bumpers, wheel flares and the cargo system to their aftermarket catalog, a Power Wagon owner would simply need to add some beadlock wheels with big tires, a lift kit, the cargo system and the body kits - along with a wrap to match this concept truck.

The hood is also something that Mopar would need to offer, but really, if you remove the vented hood, this concept doesn't lose many cool points.

The Ram BrewMaster started its life as a new Ram ProMaster 2500, but the Mopar crew has transformed this cargo van into a Mopar-themed mobile bar. The driver's side of the vehicle opens to reveal a quartet of draft heads, all topped with the various modern Mopar shift handles.

Behind the bartender is a collection of Mopar neon signs and to make for easier use of the full length countertops, the vehicle has been lined with LED interior lighting. Mopar T-handle, billet aluminum, cue ball, and pistol grip shifters help dish out drinks. There is also plenty of space between the counters to store the four Mopar bar stools, and when you get where you are going, you can swing open the side, put out the barstools and become the life of any tailgating party or car show.

Mopar added, "ProMaster Pit Stop is packed with Mopar accessories, including LED lights, a full-size cargo mat, a walk-through, all-weather mat, D-pillar grab handles, splash guards, a receiver hitch, running board and more."

To jazz up the outside, the BrewMaster has 20 inch wheels under unique wheel flares, along with body colored front and rear fascias, all of which reduce the commercial feel of the ProMaster 2500.

Concept cars are often made so a car's feel can be evaluated, problems can be foreseen, and reactions of the public can be judged. Some concepts test specific ideas, colors, controls, or materials - either subtle or out of proportion, to hide what's being tested. Some are created to help designers think "out of the box." The Challenger, Prowler, PT Cruiser, and Viper were all tested as production-based concepts dressed up to hide the production intent.
