That doesn't seem to be the case for these. The reman unit was purchased online without a VIN and was plug-and-play. That is probably not true for all PCMs, but it appears to be so in this application.

The P05150518AA is for any 2010 JS (Avenger/Sebring) with a 2.4L (LEV or PZEV).
After installation it would need to have the current VIN & mileage entered with a capable scan tool (probably dealer only).

I went back through the records of my purchase of the reman PCM. It turns out I did submit a VIN when I purchased it; they did not ask me for the mileage. So it was programmed with the VIN when I received it; the mileage must be stored elsewhere, perhaps in the BCM as with the LH 2nd gen cars.
