Sorry if someone else already posted it. I saw this article about Peugeot in the US market mentionned on GMInsidenews.

A sage decision which might bring more weight then future Peugeots/Citroens or even Opels might be rechristened as Chryslers and/or Dodge.

LOL. Have you got any idea what sells well outside the pickup belt? Stop it with the FWD/AWD cars and SUVs don't sell nonsense, they sell better than large pickups and large SUVs.

Large pickup sales in 2020 in US 2.334.940
Large SUV sales in 2020 in US 414.472

Subcompact SUV sales in 2020 in US 1.076.419
Compact SUV sales in 2020 in US 3.438.835
Midsize SUV sale in 2020 in US 2.531.089
Total 7,046,343 (48.3% of market)

I could see Peugeots as Chryslers in the future. They've got a nice range of smaller SUVs that Chrysler/Cerberus/FCA/Stellantis/Your name here doesn't offer in North America outside Jeep. Plus they offer them in hybrid and EV models already. Now that we seemed destined to lose our energy independence, Stellantis should be prepared for the end of cheap oil. Not sure a future built on giant Rams and Wgoneers is a good move. Peugeots as Chryslers could help.

I saw that as a given, and Tavares basically alluded to it with his answer late last Fall when he said something to the effect that "until the merger is complete, Peugeot is still coming to NA." The idea being he couldn't legally say they weren't coming due to anti-Trust laws prior to the E-date of the merger, but by saying "until..." he basically alluded to that changing post-merger, the obvious reasons being there were other brands within the merging company already in NA that needed some love.

Buy the rights to the Saab 96, retrofit a modern AWD drivetrain, and sell it as a Dodge Colt.
