An Instagram post showing what is claimed to be the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has quickly spread across the internet since it was published last night, but does this really show the next monster Mopar muscle car?

The post was made by “Sinister_Z07,” who claimed he had images of the Challenger Demon from five different angles. In each of these small images, there are certain cues which suggest that this is not just your average Dodge Challenger — though it may not necessarily be the Demon.

In the distant front end shot, the body is wider than a “normal” Hellcat Challenger. More importantly, there is no missing that massive hood scoop stretching across the front end of the car.

In the tightly cropped front end picture, we get another look at this Dodge Challenger’s wide, low profile hood scoop, as well as a look at a new SRT badge with the Hellcat logo. I find this to be a bit odd, since the Demon should have its own badging while the current Hellcat Challenger does not have the Hellcat head on the grille.

In the top right, the wheel/tire image appears to be similar to the one on, but without the same deep lip at the “burnout wheel .”

The car is sitting on a surface of diamondplate steel, so in the wheel picture, the car must be on a trailer or a dyno. This is odd, considering that the car is sitting in a parking lot in the wide angle shot, so whoever took these pictures must have had extended access to the car.

So, what does this post reveal? Well, if it is real, this is seemingly our best look at the flared front end, the huge hood scoop, the wheel/tire combo and the interior of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon – even though we can’t really see much in that interior shot.

In the end, this might not be the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. It could be a movie car from the upcoming 8 th installment of the Fast and Furious series, or a highly customized personal car, but even so, this car could hold some keys to the puzzle that is the Challenger Demon.
