This morning, the Ram Trucks brand announced the return of the Warlock package, last offered on the Dodge Ram D150 back in the late 1970s. The new Warlock is still based on the half-ton truck, but curiously, this new package is being offered on the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. For those unfamiliar with the Ram Classic, the brand has continued building and selling trucks from the previous generation under the “Classic” title to differentiate them from the all-new, next generation 2019 Ram 1500 pickups.

Ram continued offering the Classic with the previous body style design based on its popularity coupled with the available production space, but for a truck called the Ram Classic, it is fitting that this would be the basis of the modern-day Warlock 40 years after the original Warlock went out of production.

"The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock is proof positive that value never goes out of style," said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand, FCA. "With its sinister monochromatic exterior, award-winning interior and great price, this mean machine is certain to resonate positively with consumers."

The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock package begins on the outside with the R-A-grille, 20-inch black painted aluminum wheels, front and rear powder coated bumpers, a one inch suspension lift, black wheel flares, LED fog lamps, projection headlamps with black bezels, LED taillights , black badging all around, tow hooks, heavy duty rear shocks and an optional Sport hood. Warlock decals on the bedsides and unique hood decals round out the exterior upgrades.  In short, the new Warlock looks a whole lot like the previous generation Rebel.

While many of the old school Dodge Ram Warlocks that we see at shows today are black with gold trim, that truck was available in an array of colors including red and green. For 2019, the Warlock is offered in Blue Streak, Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Diamond Black, Delmonico Red, Flame Red, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel, Pearl White and True Blue.

On the inside, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock comes with Diesel Grey cloth seats and the Classic Luxury Group that adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, overhead console, 7-inch cluster display, LED bed lighting and power foldaway mirrors. Buyers who want a heated cloth or leather can opt up to that, while the 8.4-inch UConnect system with navigation, black side steps and a spray-in bedliner can be added on as well.

Warlock Interior

The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock comes with standard with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive, but the 5.7-liter Hemi is optional, as is four wheel drive. The package can be applied to Quad Cab and Crew Cab trucks with the short bed and in standard form, the new Warlock starts at $35,345, not including the $1,695 destination fee.

The new Warlock will go on sale sometime later during the first quarter of 2019 and with the Ram 1500 Classic models bound to be discontinued sooner or later, anyone who loves this package should probably act quickly on ordering one.
