The Texas Truck Rodeo is an annual event presented by the Texas Auto Writers Association, an association of professional automotive journalists, and the awards are among the most prestigious honors from the motoring press.

The 26th annual Truck Rodeo took place at the Longhorn River Ranch located near Dripping Springs, Texas, which is about thirty-five miles west of Austin.

The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport was named Crossover of Texas, one of the top three categories. The Stelvio also took the honors as the top luxury crossover.

Jeep and Dodge took the lion's share of SUV awards. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk collected the mid-size SUV trophy; the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk was the top sub-compact SUV and the Dodge Durango SRT was named the best full-size SUV.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon continued the Wrangler's winning streak as the top off-road utility vehicle.

With some pickups carrying sticker prices of nearly $100,000, Ram still leads the pack. The Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Southfork was the winning entry in the luxury pickup category.

The Ram 2500 Limited Tungsten was the favorite heavy-duty pickup. While it didn't win, FCA entered a Ram 5500 dump truck, the first dump truck entry in the history of the Truck Rodeo. It was in the running for top commercial vehicle but the Nissan Titan got the nod.
