It would take a 46RH 4-speed OD with a lock-up torque converter (also known as an A518). However, for demo or race use, I'd put in an A727 without lock up since you don't need the fourth gear. The 360 motor is externally balanced and the 318 is internally balanced. In addition there were differences in crank flanges depending on the engine and duty rating, so you want to make sure you get a trans and torque converter that matches your heavy duty 360. The correct torque converter for that application will have balance weights tacked on.
