Has anyone had their trans side cover rust through? Mine was getting real bad, so what better way to start the new year than scrapping and painting the cover! Whatever Caltrans is using for ice melt in the Sierra is extremely corrosive. In scrapping the cover it appears that it is made of at least 2 layers of steal - one to go. I'll be keeping an eye on it, it may need replacing before the van hits 300K miles.

What is a good source for the cover? I don't know if Pick-n-Pull would allow pulling just the cover.
