Nice! Are the new USB ports for those looking to charge USB C? For Apple people don't worry, you can get a USB C to lightning cable with fast charging - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H27J698/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It would be great if someone can confirm that UConnect 5 vehicles will have fast charging capable USB C ports ;)
iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are bundled with Lightning to USB-C chargers. Wouldn't be surprised to see that standardized with every new iPhone this fall.

So this is a software/hardware bundle. Not an update we can get for our existing systems?

Remember a conversion 3 years back with a Garmin representative who was telling me to hold off a couple of years on the Wrangler purchase. Some exciting tech would be rolled out several years into the release. Guess Tom Tom got the biz...

Correct. Select new vehicles only, starting with certain 2021 model year vehicles.I don't think the presser referenced which ones, but if I was to guess - Pacifica and seven passenger next generation Grand Cherokee.
Debut on all new car which debuts all new car arhitecture. It's European brand. Take a guess.

Hmm, won't they re-skin it to not say uConnect? It may still use the Android Auto implementation that underlies all next generation FCA infotainment offerings, but if I'm reading your message correctly it would be the first time UConnect is offered in either Alfa or Maesarati.

Honestly, no idea. I thought Alfa Tonale was 2021 calendar/2022 model year...sooo Maesarati?

I assume they are not back to QNX as the base OS? :(

At first the screen looks a bit too busy for my taste.

And while I get the profiles and personalization efforts I feel that for 99% of users the system should have all major functionality easily accessible and intuitive that I don’t need to setup personal preferences...

I'd swear that some FCA vehicles have USB-C ports right now. Can't remember which ones, but I thought it was great that they were pretty early movers on that.

Wireless Android Auto would be fantastic, but it'll be years before I'm in the market for a new car. Guess I'll have to muddle-through with the wired connection & my phone's unreliable USB port. (At least it's easier to upgrade a phone than to upgrade a car.)

They do. New Wrangler and Ram models have USB-C.

Debut will be on Fiat. I said while ago on which one. I even said which CPU will use this new system, at least for this application.

BTW, this is not Uconnect as we know. It shares just a name but it's successor of both Uconnect and Alfa Connect 3D. Actually some of novelties like widgets are already present on Alfa Connect 3D.

Maserati is using Uconnect 4.
