If you could disable the VTSS easily, so could the crooks. I would try and diagnose and fix it first.
It could be the door/trunk lock cylinder switch(es)? They usually corroded. You could try and short the switches to always being on in order to disarm the system?
It will have VTSS until you replace both the PCM and BCM at the same time with non-VTSS modules.
