What's that thin black bar called above the radio with warning lights like "door", etc? I'm trying to troubleshoot it and can't seem to find it in the service manual. Is that part of the voice alert or warning chime system? This is on an 86 Lebaron.

It appears to be called a Message Center.

Door ajar warning light is a bar that lights up in the message center.

what trouble shooting are you doing. Mine didnt work in my 90 but all i had to do was clean the contacts that the light bulbs touched.

That's a picture of what I'm referring to. Isn't there supposed to be a chime or voice alert or something that happens when one of those lights comes on? The car has a the mechanical gauges, not the digital cluster, so I'm not sure if it has the EVA.

Some cars may chime, others don't. My Daytonas don't. No voice module.

I know the Spirit doesn't chime for hardly anything, low fuel, washer fluid, lamp out, check gauges, etc., just key-in, lights on and door ajar.
