I have an 84 Reliant. The radio presently in the car is not working. The pictures show a radio from a 85 Dodge 600. Most of these radios will interchange; however, I have no knowledge if that's the case.

Can anyone tell me if it will work in my car.

As long as the mounting locations for the radio chassis (upper right and lower left) match position to your existing radio then this replacement you picture will fit and work. From 1984 through 2000 all Chrysler electronically tuned radios had a flat face. They had 2 electrical connectors at the rear and there was no pinout change over this 17 year period. Antenna plug in and ground strap mounting remained unchanged.

Sometime in the early to mid 1990 period there were internal changes in the electronics such that the radio stations you program into the radio would survive and be remembered when the power was disconnected.

Very good! Thanks very much. I should mention that the radio coming out of the car does NOT have the plugs as shown on picture. Two sets of braided wires. Are the plugs color coded to the wiring in the back?? Thanks very much.

You need to look at the back of the radio. The radio should have a gray and a black plug, like these but can be in different positions. This should be the setup in your 1984 car and most any 1984-2000 donor (though by 2000 the radios with rounded corners were appearing). The wire colors may vary from year to year, but the pinouts stayed the same.
