You Are in Charge of Chrysler. What Would You Do?

Every once in a while someone creates another doom and gloom thread about Chrysler.

Why not talk about what you actually want to see from them?

This one is a different perspective. Imagine you are in Fuell's role. How would you want to reshape the brand?

A little in jest, but I wonder why (so far anyway) no one has answered "trade jobs with <other division head>!" 🤣
Such as?

Divisional head job opportunities seen on a bulletin board at the Stellantis cafeteria.

Looking for experienced brand managers. Enquire herein.

Technically my lineups for Dodge and Chrysler have no sedans. The 'sedans' are all liftbacks.
So you’ve let your personal preferences affect the entire lineup?

Liftbacks have cargo advantages over sedans in the same shape.

I would venture to say that more people would prefer a traditional sedan over liftbacks.

How do they with a smaller opening?

I'm not talking about SUV coupes necessarily. In the UK, you can get the Ford Mondeo as both a 5 door liftback and a 4 door sedan (saloon). One just has a bigger trunk, which most people would see as an advantage.

Art Deco inspired EV with no hood. Something shaped like the Mercury Streamliner or a 1941 Chrysler hood ornament. They aren't going to sell a conventional car, so why not go out in a blaze of glory?

The sales data disagrees with you, when you realize that "SUVs" are just lifted liftbacks.

Hatchbacks.

Liftbacks/Sportbacks are the name given to the large opening tail cars (sedans).

Fastback however just refers to the swoopy roof.
I'd like to see them make something like the early Dart, but do it like they used to with several versions of the same design and multiple drivetrains. Make it as a 2 door, 4 door & wagon/hatchback. Saves a lot of retooling & gives people several choices of a model that has versatility! They could do something similar with a midsized vehicle. Doing it this way also saves on parts that can be used on all three models. Hell, I'd like to see them make a motorcycle too!
Not sure what they should do with Chrysler other than get more products somehow. I haven't had one since my 1978 Cordoba that I sold in 1992

There used to be a Dodge Tomahawk

If you look at the data, despite the popularity of CUVs, if you look at people who buy cars, the people buying cars prefer trunks, not hatchbacks.
If you exclude CUVs, how many hatchbacks are sold?

I wonder if it's reliability bias from buying Toyota, Honda, etc. They don't make many hatchbacks, more sedans.
I'd try building a four door sedan with a bench seat. I miss the bench seat cars and would love to have another one.

If hatchbacks were what people wanted in cars, then Toyota and Honda would have more of them. They do tend to understand their customers fairly well.

Let's try advertising what they (still for now) make!
On Cablevision here in NY all I see:
Kia/Hyundai
Toyota
VW
Ford
Jeep
nothing from Dodge or Chrysler not in years.

Chrysler's branding has been confused and erratic since the mid 70s, it is not a new problem, but really nothing has been done to correct this all FCA did was sell the easy sells like the Jeeps and Ram trucks, and BTW, changing Dodge Trucks to Ram, was foolish also. Again, alienated the traditional customers.
Discontinuing the Dodge Caravan, pure idiocy
Renaming the Chrysler Grand Caravan to Pacifica (a failed short production SUV, equally idiotic, can you imagine the confusion of long time customers who want another Grand Carvan after having several?
Haven't they noticed yet that the most successful makers establish equity in a name and continue it, for DECADES?!
Corolla, Civic, Golf, Jetta, Outback, Forester, etc.
And while I'm at it get rid of the odd rear styling on the van, don't copy Toyota's awkward bizarre approach to design. Their vehicles sell well due to reliability and good will warrantee extensions but to look at ohhh...please....the Sienna looks like it was styled by extra-terrestrials and the Supra, with all those nonsensical bulges and creases, is just hideous. The Camry has been re-folded to make it look all modern and edgy but underneath it is the same boring 4 cyl FWD.

Did they ever, research just why the 200 and the Dart failed? Because the 200 at least didn't compare badly to what Toyota/Nissan/Subaru/VW were selling.

There is much that could be done here, but it doesn't seem like the American brands of FCA, are a priority, at all.
