This new 5+2 CUV (seven seats) was originally thought to be an extended Cherokee; but now it appears that it has become a separate model.
Allpar expects the new GME "Hurricane" turbocharged four cylinder to be the principal power under the hood. Production will begin in China this summer.

Speculation: While the Jeep K8 is focused on China, Allpar believes this could this be a foreshadow of a future three-row Chrysler built alongside the US-spec Cherokee at the Belvidere assembly plant in Illinois.
