I have found one issue with the "new" Jeep Wrangler. This is a 2007 Wrangler X with 87k miles. When I cycle through the display, the AVG ECO screen does not display any numbers and the DTE screen always shows 255 miles left regardless of how much fuel is in the tank. The rest of the displays like Elapsed Time and the regular and trip odometers function as expected. But it's like the trip computer doesn't know how much fuel there is though the fuel gauge appears accurate.

Any thoughts?

No error codes from the diagnostics. I will try a battery disconnect and if that does not work I'll probably just live with it as it is. At least until I need to visit the dealer for some other reason as well. Thanks!

So to bring this old topic back from the dead:
I have seen some scattered posts on line that the AVE ECO and DTE functions stopped after recall J30 which was a recall to reprogram the CCN to add a transmission temperature warning. Results are exactly like mine, blank average MPG and distance to empty is always 255.
The posters say the dealers ended up replacing the cluster for free to fix this. The J30 recall was performed on my Jeep in Feb. 2011 at an out of state dealer. I doubt my dealer would agree to replace the cluster without me paying for it.
