Alfa Romeo's lineup is pretty thin in the US. The automaker currently offers the Stelvio and Giulia, with the Tonale going on sale sometime this year. The automaker wants to expand its presence in America, and a new large electric vehicle is planned as part of that effort.

Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato told Automotive News Europe that it's working to bring a fully electric E-segment vehicle to North America that might not look like your traditional crossover. Imparato also said that aerodynamics are important in an EV, allowing for more creativity in a vehicle's design. The automaker will nail down the car’s look this year, with the new model scheduled to arrive sometime around 2027.

It's not that I dislike Alfa Romeo (more indifferent), but stories like this often remind me how paltry the Chrysler and Dodge lineups are.

Actually, since this Alfa only arrives in 2027, it will mean that Dodge, Jeep and Chryslers will be on sale first using STLA Large platform.

Dodge has ... wait ... never mind. Three vehicles, soon to be, um, three vehicles (assuming the Durango ends at the end of 2023, they will have four for a while).

'Course in 1924 they had one or two Dodges, one Chrysler, and one Maxwell. Admittedly each available in an absurd number of body styles.

Could this be a slightly Lifted Station wagon or Liftback considering they said "might not look like your traditional crossover." Possibly on STLA large or Giorgio EVO
